ep. 116: Key Marketing Trends for Success in 2024

Recently I’ve been doing a deep dive in marketing trends for 2024. And, today I’m SPILLING THE BEANS AND ALL THE TEA with YOU! You will want to pay close attention to these and how you are noticing these marketing trends in the online space.

Looking at consumer behavior shifts and trends in the online marketplace is intriguing! Marketing insights for the new year are what we as business owners want to see so that we can plan accordingly. From one small business owner to another, I know you want to future-proof your marketing! So let’s get to it and navigate the marketing trends for success as a business owner!!!

Marketing Trends in 2024

1. Purpose-Driven Marketing:

This type of marketing is based on consumers buying products from companies whose values align. Forbes confirms that “consumers increasingly seek brands that align with their values.” An example of this is Columbia whose money supports worthy causes believed in strongly such as the environment. Another example of this would be a company that sells products made only in the USA. In 2024, consumers are projected to purchase from companies who are using a purpose-driven marketing strategy.

2. Hyper Personalized Content:

Hyper personalized content is defined as highly personal:  “Authentically human content (live video, podcasts, events) will be in higher demand as the trust erodes from synthetic content.” Forbes online article, 2023. An example of this is a restaurant in east Memphis that my husband goes to with a buddy every couple of weeks. The waitress always knows what their order is AND the last time I went she gave me soup instead of salad and she brought me BOTH. That’s hyper-personalized service at a brick and mortar but it’s still the same

Frank Strong, founder and president, Sword and the Script Media, LLC said they will focus on building trust, credibility, and relationships by developing educational content that builds opt-in email subscribers to their content marketing programs. Content marketers in B2B will come to grips with the fact its regurgitated content merely adds to the “sea of sameness.”

Isn’t that exactly what God created us for…uniqueness? Not sameness! You, my friend, are DIFFERENT than anyone else in this world and are created by a Creative God!!!

3. Influencer & Creator marketing:

Niched and targeted micro-influencers sharing real stories is a trend for 2024 and I’m here for it!

“Micro-influencers are much more affordable for brands and can be just as (if not even more) effective because they are relatable and have loyal followings.” Forbes

Micro-influencers are smaller than mega-influencers but engaged. So a micro influencer has between 10,000 and 100,000 followers, and a nano influencer has between 100 and 10,000 followers. I think creator marketing will be trending for nano-influencers, too!

4. User-generated Content:

If brands are creative and strategic, they will bring their clients’ and customers’ content to the forefront in 2024.

5. Human storytelling:

6. Brand Awareness:

The definition of brand awareness is that consumers are familiar with the distinctive qualities or image of a particular brand of goods or services.

2024 is going to be the “year of the personal brand” Companies are going to be leaning more and more into individual thought leaders with a strong personal brand as the differentiator that makes their content unique.

You’re also making it easier for readers to consume your content on the go, whether commuting to work, cooking, or working out.
