ep 75 - Podcast Non-Negotiables - Part 3

Consistency is key when it comes to podcasting. Without it, your show can quickly be forgotten. I want to show you how consistency is non-negotiable for your podcast and how you can achieve it! (and, it doesn’t mean you have to do more!)

Consistency is super important for building an audience. People want to know when they can expect to hear from you and if you are consistent, they will look forward to your episodes and eagerly anticipate the next one. Promise!! On the other hand, if you are inconsistent, listeners may lose interest and look elsewhere for content that is more reliable.

Consistency helps to establish your brand as well. By consistently releasing episodes on a regular schedule, you create a sense of professionalism and reliability. Listeners will come to recognize your brand and what you stand for. They will also come to know what type of content to expect from your show, which helps to build trust and loyalty.

Finally, consistency helps with discoverability. Most podcast platforms prioritize consistent and active podcasts in their search results and recommendations. If you release episodes on a regular schedule, your show will be more likely to appear in front of potential listeners who are searching for content in your niche.

So, how can you achieve consistency in your podcast? Here are some tips:

  1. Create a schedule and stick to it. Determine a realistic release schedule and commit to it. Whether it's once a week or twice a month, make sure you release your episodes on the same day and at the same time.

  2. Plan ahead. Take the time to plan out your content and create your episodes.

  3. Be realistic. Don't overcommit yourself and release more episodes than you can realistically produce. Quality is more important than quantity, so focus on creating great content that resonates with your audience.

  4. Communicate with your audience. Let your listeners know when to expect new episodes and keep them updated if there are any changes to your schedule. I would rather you over-communicate than under!

Being consistent with your podcast does NOT mean MORE! Consistency does not equal more!

Consistency is non-negotiable for your podcast if you want to build and maintain a loyal audience, establish your brand, and increase your discoverability. By following these tips, you can ensure that your podcast is consistent and that it continues to grow over time.
