ep. 184: How to Live Healthily with Melanie Redd (Get practical tips & a recipe!)

Melanie Redd is a wife, mom, writer, speaker and health coach who is constantly amazed by the goodness of God!

SHOW NOTES :

Kept it off: Randy and Melanie have kept their weight off through coaching.

We had to eat to live, not live to eat.

It’s not all about the food.

We want to change for life was the biggest switch.

She’s dropped 30 lbs and has kept it off!

It’s not what you eat, its the mindset around what you eat.

You don’t do it well by yourself.

I’m cheering others on to make them feel better.

Leaving a legacy for our kids, and even in healthy eating!

Is eating and living healthy hard? What does it take?

Have to want to look and feel better.

Have to be willing to make some changes.

Have to be open and teachable.

Have to learn better ways of looking at food – eat to live.

Must have some help! Don’t try to do it alone!

Can you share with us practical tips of how we can make a small step in getting healthy?  (3 to 5?)

1.    Watch what you drink! Sneaky calories in sodas, tea, wine, and coffee.

2.    Watch the extra bites after dinner.

3.    Add more water to your day.

4.    Cut back on bubbles and salt.

5.    Walk 30 minutes a day.

6.    Split meals when you eat out – eat less.

7.    Get the junk out of the house – make yourself go and get it.
